BTS Jungkook Melts UK Hearts with BBC Live Performance & Debuts at No. 3 on Official Singles Chart
BTS's Jungkook, who has stirred up a global sensation with his first solo single, made a triumphant debut on a talk show broadcast, setting a new record for a Korean solo artist on the 'Official Singles Chart,' thus taking the UK by storm.
On July 22nd (local time), Jungkook appeared on the popular UK BBC talk show 'The One Show.' Jungkook, who previously appeared on the program in 2021 as a part of BTS, returned as a solo artist nearly two years later and performed his first solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' live.
Entering to cheers from his fans, Jungkook expressed his excitement and gratitude for returning to the UK after his 2019 Wembley concert. "I'm thrilled to be back (in the UK). I've been waiting to perform 'Seven' in front of my fans. Thank you for coming," he said, following it up with, "Expect a completely new side of Jungkook (as a solo artist). I want to continue to explore a variety of music styles."
Introduced as a "global pop star!", Jungkook then took to the stage with 'Seven.' He delivered a live performance and vocals alongside a live band and dancers, set on a helipad with the skyline of London and the River Thames as the backdrop.
His appearance on the BBC's 'The One Show' was further illuminated by his record-breaking news on the UK charts. On the latest chart released by the UK Official Chart on the 21st (for the period July 14-20), 'Seven' entered the 'Official Singles Chart' and shot straight to No. 3. This marks a record high debut for a Korean solo artist in the history of the UK 'Official Singles Chart'.
Meanwhile, 'Seven,' which had set a record as the first song by a Korean solo artist to enter the global chart at No. 1 on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming service, maintained its top spot for seven consecutive days. It also debuted at No. 1 on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global' (for the period July 14-20).
