BLACKPINK Jennie Dominates Coachella with Solo Debut — Rosé and Lisa Seen Jumping with Joy in the Crowd
BLACKPINK's Jennie performed her first solo set at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 13, delivering an hour-long set that drew tens of thousands of attendees and featured a surprise appearance by pop artist Kali Uchis.
Taking the stage in Indio, California, Jennie wore a red cowboy hat, sunglasses, a red bralette top, and red hot pants, performing under the visual concept of "Ruby." Her set included live renditions of "Mantra," "ZEN," and her lead single "like JENNIE," all of which prompted coordinated chants, singing, and widespread fan participation across the venue.
This performance marked Jennie's third Coachella appearance. In 2019, she debuted on the festival stage with BLACKPINK, making history as part of the first K-pop girl group to appear at the event. In 2023, the group returned as headliners. This year's appearance was Jennie's first as a solo act. Despite the scale of the production and the number of dancers involved, she maintained full live vocals throughout the set.
During "like JENNIE," the stage's LED screens displayed "제니" in Hangul, making her Korean name visible to the global audience. Fans holding BLACKPINK's signature light sticks and wearing red hairstyles in homage to Jennie were visible throughout the crowd.

"The crowd was bigger than I expected," Jennie stated during a brief break in her performance. "Thank you for coming to see my stage at Coachella." She added, "It feels like a dream to be back here performing. I hope everyone has a great time tonight."
Kali Uchis joined Jennie during "Damn Right," where she contributed a surprise guest feature.
BLACKPINK members Rosé and Lisa were also seen in the audience, visibly cheering and jumping during Jennie's performance. Their attendance marked continued internal support within the group, even as members pursue independent careers.
Jennie's solo appearance follows a broader trend of BLACKPINK members expanding their individual profiles. Lisa also took the stage as a solo performer at Coachella earlier in the festival, reinforcing the group's diversified presence in global entertainment markets.
Jennie is scheduled to return for a second Coachella performance on April 20.
