A video clip showing actor Kim Soo-hyun eating dakdoritang (spicy chicken stew) allegedly cooked by the late actress Kim Sae-ron has gone viral, but now the video is at the center of a heated online debate over whether it was manipulated. As YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (commonly referred to as Gaseyeon) released the footage, rival content creator Lee Jin-ho-also known as "Entertainment President"-raised suspicions of tampering, prompting a back-and-forth that continues to escalate.

In a video uploaded on April 3, Gaseyeon's Kim Se-ui defended the video's authenticity, stating, "When a video taken on an iPhone is sent via email, the file extension becomes .MOV, but if it's sent through KakaoTalk, it changes to .MP4." He added, "It's the same whether it's shot through the Snow app or the default camera." Kim Se-ui said he verified this by conducting his own test using an iPhone held by a Gaseyeon staff member.

This rebuttal was aimed at Lee Jin-ho, who had uploaded a video the previous day titled, "Shocking Exclusive! Why There Are Allegations the Kim Soo-hyun Dakdoritang Video Was Edited - The Chilling Truth About Kim Se-ui." In his video, Lee questioned the legitimacy of the file, noting, "The video Gaseyeon released has an MP4 extension, not the MOV format typically generated by iPhones. This suggests it underwent encoding through a video editing program."

Kim Se-ui pushed back, arguing that an MP4 extension alone doesn't prove editing. "Even without editing, the file extension can become MP4," he said, refuting Lee's theory.

However, Kim Se-ui did not respond to another claim Lee made-that someone originally appeared in front of Kim Soo-hyun in the video but was edited out. Lee alleged, "iPhones typically shoot in 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios. But the video released by Gaseyeon has a 23:31 aspect ratio, which implies re-encoding. This suggests someone in front of Kim Soo-hyun was edited out of the frame."

Lee concluded, "This kind of manipulation without hesitation is exactly what defines Kim Se-ui and Gaseyeon."

The back-and-forth between these digital content creators is adding yet another layer to the controversy surrounding Kim Soo-hyun's alleged past relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron. As both legal and public scrutiny continues to build, disputes over even technical details like file extensions and video ratios are being picked apart by online communities hungry for clarity.
