BTS Jungkook Shines in Billboard's 'Top 60 Best BTS Songs' with 'Euphoria' and 'Begin'
BTS's Jungkook has had two of his solo songs named in the United States' Billboard's 'Top 60 Best BTS Songs'.
The renowned US music publication Billboard highlighted the top 60 songs of BTS, as selected by critics, in honor of the band's 10th anniversary under the title 'BTS' 60 Best Songs'.
Main vocalist Jungkook has had two of his solo songs ranked within the top 30.
These two songs, 'Begin' and 'Euphoria', secured the 23rd and 26th spots respectively. Notably, Jungkook was the only member of BTS to have two solo songs ranked within the top 30, showcasing his potent power as a lead vocalist.
Billboard praised 'Euphoria', which combines a lively synth work with Jungkook's feather-like vocals, as one of the fans' favorite tracks even before its official audio release with the 'Euphoria : Theme of Love Yourself: Wonder' video.
Additionally, Billboard noted that Jungkook's performance of 'Euphoria' in concert, where he soars above the audience on a wire, was a highlight of the band's world tour.
Elsewhere on the 'BTS Top 60 Best Songs', 'Blood Sweat & Tears' took first place, followed by 'I need U', 'Black Swan', 'RUN', and 'Save ME' respectively.
Previously, Billboard has praised Jungkook in a feature titled 'Jung Kook's 18 Best Solo Musical Moments', stating that his solo song 'Begin', released in 2016, showcased his potential to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with international pop stars like Justin Bieber.
Billboard columnist Jeff Benjamin has also lauded Jungkook's performance of 'Euphoria' at the BTS 'LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF' concert, saying, "it took things to a whole new dimension at this stadium. I got goosebumps with every beat."
'Euphoria' was also ranked 23rd in the '100 Best BTS Songs' list by US culture magazine 'Rolling Stone' last year, and among all the solo songs of BTS members, it achieved the highest ranking, reflecting Jungkook's powerful vocal abilities and popularity.
'Euphoria' has maintained strong global popularity since its release without any specific promotions, achieving numerous accomplishments.
'Euphoria' is the first and most streamed Korean male solo song on the world's largest music streaming platform 'Spotify', surpassing 400 million streams, and is now close to reaching 500 million.
Furthermore, 'Euphoria' holds the record for the longest-running entry of a Korean idol's solo song on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart, clocking in 92 weeks.
'Euphoria' is also the first Korean male idol solo song to sell more than 500,000 units in the United States, qualifying for a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
In other news, earlier this year, Jungkook was included in the '200 Greatest Singers of All Time' list published by the esteemed US music media outlet Rolling Stone, a unique honor for a Korean male singer.
