No Break for BTS' Jin: Surpasses 1.1 Billion Streams on Spotify
BTS's Jin shines with global popularity as he surpasses 1.1 billion streams on the world's largest music platform, Spotify.
As of June 23, Jin, with the credit to 9 songs, broke the barrier of 1.1 billion streams on Spotify. Since 2014, Jin has participated in composing and writing lyrics for BTS albums, and his contributions are evident in 3 individual songs included in those albums, 5 solo songs, and 1 drama OST sung with fellow member V.
As of the 23rd, Spotify's streaming counts for Jin's solo songs are led by "Epiphany" from the 'Love Yourself 結 Answer' album with over 239.4 million, followed by "Moon" from the 'Map of the Soul:7' album with over 184.66 million streams, and "Awake" from the 'Wings' album with over 120.97 million streams.
In addition, the most recently released "The Astronaut" has garnered over 185.67 million streams. The main theme song "Yours" from the drama 'Jirisan' has been streamed more than 139.68 million times, and the officially registered "Super Tuna", "Abyss", and "Tonight" last year, along with the drama OST "Even If I Die, It's You" sung with V, collectively amassed over 1.1 billion streams, totaling over 1.104 billion streams.
Among the songs Jin is credited for, excluding the OST, all 7 songs have lyrics penned by Jin himself, featuring his sensitive emotions towards his 'Love Myself' message and his love for his fans.
All of Jin's solo songs, excluding "Super Tuna", "Tonight", and "Abyss", which were officially registered last year, have recorded over 100 million streams on Spotify from unofficial audio tracks released on SoundCloud.
Jin also topped the 'Instagram Follower Average Reaction Rate Ranking of Korean Celebrities' announced by influencer marketing platform StarNgage on June 21. Jin recorded an overwhelming engagement rate of 26.62% on Instagram.
In addition, he ranked as the second most influential music influencer among men worldwide and the first in Asia for the first half of 2023. The top five male artists worldwide were Justin Bieber in first place, BTS's Jin in second, Zayn Malik, formerly of One Direction, in third, Shawn Mendes in fourth, and Harry Styles, also from One Direction, in fifth.
Jin, who is currently serving in the army as an exemplary assistant after enlisting as an active duty soldier, is still making his presence known as a world star, continuously topping various records and fan votes, debunking any notions of a "military hiatus."
