'Tonight' was released as a special content during the '2019 BTS Festa', commemorating their 6th debut anniversary. After a pre-release on BTS's official SNS and SoundCloud, it was officially released on all streaming platforms in October of the previous year.

The song, which is about Jin's heartfelt feelings for his departed pet, is expressed with a deep and powerful tone. Even four years after its release, the song continues to receive consistent love. Its lyrical content and the sentiment of longing not only resonate with pet owners but also tug at the heartstrings of fans.

Upon its release, 'Tonight' immediately achieved the number one spot on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 14 countries, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Colombia. Recently, it has continued its streak by topping charts in countries like Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago, Qatar, and Spain, accumulating a total of 27 number one spots across different nations.

Jin has been on a roll, with recent tracks like 'The Astronaut' topping charts in 106 countries, 'Yours' in 105 countries, 'Super Tuna' in 47 countries, and 'Abyss' in 17 countries. These achievements solidify Jin's position as a dominant force on iTunes.

Jin has always expressed his love for animals, often making donations of food, bowls, and blankets to animal welfare organizations on his birthday. Inspired by Jin's positive influence, fans also actively celebrate the anniversary of 'Tonight' every year, continuing various support initiatives and charitable acts.
