BTS Jin's Solo 'The Astronaut' Soars Past 160 Million Streams on Spotify
BTS member Jin's solo track, 'The Astronaut,' has shined in popularity by surpassing 160 million streams on the world's largest music platform, Spotify.
As of May 1, 'The Astronaut' exceeded 160 million streams on Spotify. As of 5 AM on May 4, it has recorded 161.45 million streams.
Jin's first solo single, 'The Astronaut,' released on October 28 last year, achieved 100 million streams on Spotify in just 72 days, setting the record for the shortest time for a Korean male K-pop solo song.
'The Astronaut' reached 50 million streams in 22 days, 60 million in 29 days, 70 million in 37 days, and 90 million in 57 days.
Jin debuted at the highest ranking ever for a Korean solo artist on Spotify's 'Global Top Artists' and 'Japan Top Artists' charts on the day of his solo song release. 'The Astronaut' entered the Spotify 'Daily Top Songs Global Chart' at 17th place and stayed on the chart for 37 days.
Jin also showcased his unparalleled music power on the world's largest music search platform, Shazam, shining as the 'Shazam King.'
Jin's 'The Astronaut' achieved 12 million Shazams on April 20, becoming the second K-pop song to surpass 12 million Shazams.
The first K-pop song to achieve 12 million Shazams was Jin's first solo OST 'Yours,' making him the first and only K-pop artist to have two songs with over 12 million Shazams.
As of 6 AM on May 4 (KST), 'The Astronaut' has over 12.78 million Shazams, and 'Yours' has crossed 12.84 million Shazams, rapidly achieving records.
'The Astronaut' also set a new record for the longest-charting Asian solo artist by staying on Hungary's Single Top 40 Chart for 18 consecutive weeks and a total of 20 weeks during the 16th week of 2023.
Jin's heartfelt gift to fans before his enlistment, 'The Astronaut,' has achieved dazzling records for the longest time on various country charts, making the powerful brand power of top solo artist Jin even more tangible.
Jin, who enlisted as an active-duty soldier in the army on December 13 last year, continues to shine as a 'global superstar' with his unrivaled presence despite his military service.
