'Boys Planet' Finale Proceeds as Scheduled Amid Late Moonbin's Tragic Passing
Despite the sudden passing of boy group ASTRO member Moonbin, CJ ENM has decided to proceed with the Mnet competition program "Boys Planet" finale as scheduled. According to CJ ENM on the 20th, 'Boys Planet' will hold its final round at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, starting at 8:50 PM (KST).
Previously, the production team had deliberated over whether to proceed with the finale after hearing the tragic news of Moonbin's passing on the 19th. They ultimately decided to go forward with the broadcast as planned. CJ ENM stated to Star News, "After lengthy discussions about whether to proceed with the 'Boys Planet' finale live broadcast, we have decided to stick to the scheduled plan."
On the other hand, Moonbin was found lifeless in his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 8:10 PM on the 19th. He was 25 years old. The police are investigating his death as a potential suicide and are currently examining the exact cause of death.
The funeral parlor is set up at the Seoul Asan Hospital in Pungnap-dong, Songpa-gu. Moonbin's younger sister, Moon Sua of the group Billlie, is receiving mourners as the chief mourner, and ASTRO members are staying at the funeral parlor as well.
The agency Fantagio said, "Moonbin has suddenly left our side and become a star in the sky," and added, "ASTRO members, fellow artists, and staff of Fantagio who have been together for a long time are deeply mourning the deceased with immense sadness and shock."
