Netflix Series 'Sea of Silence' Features Bae Doona, Gong Yoo, Lee Joon and More!
Netflix's upcoming original show 'Sea of Silence,' stars Bae Doona, Gong Yoo, Lee Joon, and Jung Woo-Sung will join forces together. Netflix reported to the press that the drama series lead characters will consist of Bae Doona, Gong Yoo, and Lee Joon.
Jung Woo-Sung will take on a producer role for the series, which is a tale wherein after the destruction of an Earth which has burned out of environmental assets, members of the society go to a deserted research base on the moon.
Meanwhile, Dr. Song Jian, an astrobiologist, will be portrayed by Bae Doona. She is a doctor who decided to join the group in disclosing the source of the Balhae Station crash, a deserted moon-research facility. This labels her third Netflix series, preceding her roles in Kingdom and Sense8. (via Koreaboo)
On the other hand, Gong Yoo will perform Han Yoonja, the leader of the exploration who is undertaking a dangerous mission with reduced and limited information. He sees his crew's survival as the topmost issue, and would not think twice about putting himself in risk instead.
However, he argues with Dr. Song Jian because of his goal of completing his mission rather than acknowledging his past incidents. Lee Joon will fill Captain Ryu Taeseok, an accomplished engineer and previous ministry of defense top officer. As he was dissatisfied with being kept back in the ministry, he applied for the risky quest and was intrigued about the pitfalls that lie ahead.
The series will be directed by Choi Hang Yong, who guided a same-name short movie on which the series is based. He's adapted his short film to suit an atmosphere for the drama.
Moreover, Park Eun Kyo, who's recognized for her blockbuster film Mother, will write the drama and script. Moreover, Jung Woo Sung would take over the megaphone and engage in drama development.
