The members of K-pop girl group NewJeans - Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein-have announced plans to take legal action against malicious commenters and those spreading false information.

On March 24, law firm Sejong, representing the members, stated, "There is a severe level of malicious slander, dissemination of false information, and defamatory posts targeting our clients, including minors."

They continued, "We are actively monitoring all online communities and social media platforms, including TheQoo, Instiz, Blind, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, DC Inside, FM Korea (Femco), and Daum Cafe. We are also working closely with relevant authorities to identify individuals who exploit anonymity to post defamatory content or malicious comments. We will pursue all possible civil and criminal measures against the spread of false information, defamation, and insults."

Meanwhile, according to legal sources on the same day, the five NewJeans members filed an objection on March 21 to the court's decision regarding a preliminary injunction. The Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 50 (Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon) had earlier ruled in favor of ADOR's request, granting an injunction to maintain the agency's management rights over NewJeans and prohibiting the group from independently signing advertisement contracts.
