Rosé Breaks Mariah Carey’s Record! ‘APT.’ Tops Billboard Global (Excluding U.S.) for 15 Consecutive Weeks
Blackpink's Rosé has set a new record on the Billboard Global (Excluding U.S.) chart with her mega-hit single 'APT.', surpassing the legendary Mariah Carey.
On February 11 (KST), Billboard reported that 'APT.' secured the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Global (Excluding U.S.) chart for the week dated February 15, 2025. This marks an unprecedented 15 consecutive weeks at No. 1, breaking the previous record of 14 weeks set by Mariah Carey's classic holiday hit, 'All I Want for Christmas Is You.'
Additionally, 'APT.' ranked No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200 chart, dropping one spot from the previous week. However, the song had previously held the No. 1 position on this chart for 12 straight weeks. On the Billboard Hot 100, Rosé continued her strong presence, maintaining a 16-week run on the chart, landing at No. 6 this week.
Originally released as a pre-release single from Rosé's first full-length album 'rosie,' 'APT.' dropped on December 6, 2024, and quickly became a global sensation. The track initially gained momentum through a chart-climbing trend on the Billboard Hot 100, ultimately reaching a career-high peak of No. 2 on January 28, 2025 (local time).
The song's dominance extended beyond Billboard, as it also performed exceptionally well on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, where it held the No. 2 position for five consecutive weeks.
Furthermore, 'rosie,' the album featuring 'APT.', debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, setting a new all-time record for the highest-ranking K-pop female solo artist on the prestigious album chart.
