BTS V's 'Lay Over' Dominates UK Official Chart for 4 Weeks, Greece's IFPI for 3 Weeks... Proving 'Global Popularity'
BTS's V's solo album 'Lay Over' has conquered European charts, shining a light on its global popularity. V's solo album 'Lay Over' ranked 3rd on Greece's IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) album chart in the first week of October, marking its third consecutive week in the top 10.
'Lay Over' is also showing strong momentum in the UK Official Chart, being the first K-pop soloist to enter the album download chart for four consecutive weeks. The title track 'Slow Dancing' is also charting in the top 20 of the Official Single Download Chart and Single Sales Chart for four consecutive weeks.
After its release on September 8th, 'Lay Over' debuted at number 1 on the UK Official Album Download Chart, and its title track 'Slow Dancing' topped both the Official Single Sales Chart and Single Download Chart. V became the first K-pop soloist to simultaneously top three charts, earning him the 'UK Chart Specialist Awards'.
The music video for 'Lay Over's track 'Love Me Again' also became the first by a K-pop artist to top the 'Tidal UK Top Video' chart and Apple Music UK Video Chart, proving its popularity in the UK.
The 'Lay Over' album ranked 4th on Germany's 'Top 100 Album' chart, 5th on the 'Top 100 Download' chart, 6th on SNEP France's 'Album Top 150', 12th on Billboard Italy's 'Top Album', 3rd on Billboard Greece Album Chart, 35th on Spain's 'Top 100 Weekly', 4th on Sweden's 'Physical Album', and 2nd on both Poland's 'Top Album' and 'Physical Album' charts.
Additionally, it secured the 4th spot on Austria's 'Album Top 75', 6th on Switzerland's 'Album Top 100', 5th and 7th on Belgium's Wallonia and Flander album charts respectively. It ranked 17th on Hungary's 'Album Top 40', 5th on Finland's 'Top Physical Album', and 19th on the 'Top Album' chart, demonstrating its global popularity across Europe.
