Actor Choi Jae-rim has officially denied reports of his alleged romantic relationship with singer Son Seung-yeon, wrapping up the whirlwind rumor.
On the afternoon of August 2, an unexpected dating rumor surrounding Choi Jae-rim and Son Seung-yeon surfaced. A media outlet quoted industry insiders, reporting that the two were in a romantic relationship.
The rumors stemmed from the fact that the two had appeared together at a gala concert last May, and had since repeatedly visited each other's performances, allegedly nurturing a romance. The two had shared the stage at the 'Gala Concert The Special' held at Uljin Yeonho Cultural Center in May, where Son Seung-yeon had also expressed her fan-like admiration for Choi Jae-rim.

However, only 20 minutes after the dating news broke, Choi Jae-rim's agency denied the claims to multiple media outlets, stating, "They are not in a romantic relationship," drawing a line on the rumors about him and Son Seung-yeon.
Choi Jae-rim made his debut in the musical 'Rent' in 2009 and has since made a mark in various productions such as 'Next to Normal', 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'Kinky Boots', 'Aida', 'Chicago', 'Airport Baby', 'Matilda', and 'Hadestown'. He is also scheduled to appear in the Seoul performance of the musical 'The Phantom of the Opera' and 'Les Misérables'.
Choi first gained public recognition when he appeared in the choir special of KBS2's 'Qualifications of Men'. Recently, he played the role of Yoon Bum, the abusive husband of Sang-eun (played by Lim Ji-yeon), in the GenieTV original drama 'House with a Yard', attracting attention. His rural life with colleagues including Park Kalin on MBC's 'I Live Alone' became a hot topic.
