In the recent episode of SHINee's preparation for their comeback track 'HARD', viewers were thrown into a tizzy of worry over the significant weight loss of group member, Onew. The K-pop star's frail appearance came following a break due to health issues, escalating the concerns of their fanbase, affectionately known as 'Shawols'.

Responding to the groundswell of apprehension, SM Entertainment, the agency responsible for managing SHINee, addressed the health concerns enveloping Onew. In an official communique, they acknowledged the deterioration of Onew's health condition in spite of the group's recent engagements.

"Post the 15th-anniversary fan meeting in May, SHINee members busied themselves with the preparation of their 8th full album comeback and initiating rehearsals for their solo concert in June. Amidst all this, Onew's health regrettably declined. After consulting a specialist and getting a checkup, it was suggested that Onew take some time off for rest and treatment," SM Entertainment clarified.

In a bid to placate worried fans, Onew took to social media, addressing the issue at hand. Expressing his gratitude for the overwhelming support and understanding, he also conveyed his apologies for causing concern among his followers.

"There may be some misunderstanding, but this decision was made in the interest of preserving what needs protection, keeping an eye on the future. Please, stay happy and healthy! To ensure we share memorable happy moments together, I'll take some time to recuperate and return in good health. Apologies for causing concern," Onew wrote.

In his heartwarming note, Onew stressed that the decision to step back from promotions was for safeguarding his health and securing his future in the industry. He gave his assurance to his fans that he would prioritize recovery and be back in good health. The message concluded on a poignant note, encouraging fans to prioritize their happiness and health.
