BLACKPINK Jisoo Opens Up About Diet Struggles, Feeling Pressured to Lose Weight Amid Slim Bandmates
On April 7(KST), the YouTube channel "Cha-rin-geon Jjippul-do Eopjiman" ("Nothing Prepared but the Smell of Alcohol") posted a video titled "Forever YOUNG Jisoo, who only leaves the smell of alcohol."
The guest for the new season of "Cha-rin-geon Jjippul-do Eopjiman" was BLACKPINK's Jisoo. The menu prepared for Jisoo was mala-tang, a popular Chinese spicy soup. Jisoo expressed her love for hot pot to the show's host, Lee Young-ji, saying, "I totally relate when you said you like hot pot. I'm a hot pot killer. I even go to hot pot restaurants when I'm abroad. They close early overseas, so I would be doing my makeup and call the hot pot place, promising them that I will be there by 8 PM and begging them to stay open."
Lee Young-ji was touched by Jisoo's words, exclaiming, "My girlfriend!"
Lee Young-ji continued, "You're the first person I've met among celebrities who likes both fire chicken noodles and hot pot. You're truly one of a kind," to which Jisoo happily responded, "It's me, it's me."
Expressing her concern, Lee Young-ji asked, "But isn't that even harder for you? Don't you have to eat less during your promotional activities?" Jisoo admitted, "That's true. Our team members are quite slim, so I feel like I need to lose weight relatively. I have to lose weight." Lee Young-ji was taken aback by Jisoo's confession, saying, "Something seems off. It feels like the world has gone mad."
