BTS ARMY Celebrates 7 Good Years Of Emergence
July 9 marks the seventh anniversary of the unparalleled fandom of the world, the BTS ARMY!
As BTS celebrates its seven years of making people happy with their music, 2020 is also a significant year for the fans of the record-setter boy group.
It's already been seven years that the brightest fandom in the world has been making waves to express their hearts out in support of their idols. With the title ARMY (Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth), they have never failed to respond in every call to support their idols' comebacks, albums, concerts, tracks, and many more significant undertakings.
How ARMY Was Born
2013 was the start of the international music storm known as BTS. The group composed of Suga, Jin, V, Jungkook, J-Hope, Jimin, and RM, first stood in the limelight in June of that year, wrote Hellokpop.
The septet's charm conquered the hearts of the people with their natural talent, and a month later, their fandom was born.
The name ARMY as BTS' official fandom was declared on July 9, 2013, after a votation. After the announcement, each ARMY has probably marked the date on their calendars with a red pen to ensure that they will not forget that spectacular time.
How Do ARMYs Celebrate their Birthday?
On July 9, ARMYs shared their stories on how they became an ARMY on social media with the hashtag #IMPACT_OF_BANGTAN.
ARMYs also changed their wallpaper, gadget screensavers, and all the things into "BTS-related" things. Some of them use their original drawings; some use someone else's picture, while others use purple wallpaper per Kpoppost.
It was announced that the ARMYs would be releasing a song titled "7 reasons" on July 9, 2020, but due to some technical problems, the video will be revealed in a later schedule.
On July 10, an ARMY quiz will take place. The quiz is a session of questions and answers among the ARMYs that will be using the hashtag #FUNWITHARMY. But as early as today, some ARMYs have already made an early start by creating their quizzes.
ARMY Is More Than Just Fangirling
As the fiercest fandom, the ARMY use their power to make a positive change in the world.
One example of their meaningful activities was supporting charity foundations after BTS performed on James Cordon's Homefest during the first days of the global quarantine.
Another instance was when the news broke that BTS and Big Hit Entertainment donated $1 million to the Black Lives Matter Movement.
Even BTS' fans are unstoppable at staying relevant. Congratulations on your 7th year, ARMY!
