BTS's V Impresses Broadway Legend Lea Salonga + Reveals V As Her Bias
Ms. Lea Salonga, Tony award-winning actress, on September 13, has declared her love for BTS's V through her personal Facebook account. The broadway diva is widely known to have perfect pitch and the voice of two famous Disney Princesses- Jasmine of Aladdin and Mulan.
As reported by the Allkpop news outlet, Ms. Salonga shared a YouTube link that recounts a scene from BTS's American Hustle Life. There, viewers can see renowned academic mentor and choir director/consultant of 1993 musical comedy film "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit" Iris Stevenson, specifically praising BTS V's vocals as "soulful."
Stevenson remarked on the video that people feel something when V sing. This prompted the Broadway Legend to share her own similar experience as she recalled how her mentor, Mary. Ms. Salonga recognized the mentor doing the same thing for her back when she was playing Kim, her award-winning character in Miss Saigon. She noted that Mary healed her and helped her become stronger in the context of playing the role.
The musical diva concluded the nostalgic journey by announcing BTS's V as her bias and shared words of inspiration to her fans. She stated that watching the video makes her feel inspired and happy. "And yes, Kim Taehyung is my bias, y'all." She continued saying that whatever your vocation or occupation, consider yourself blessed when you encounter that one person that tells you, "You have something, let's help you figure out how to use it."
Also, Ms. Lea didn't keep her love for "V" to herself. After posting V's solo dance practice on her social media, Jed Madela, the Filipino vocal powerhouse, replied. Jed Madela is a Filipino singer, recording artist, TV host, songwriter, entertainer, and occasional actor. The singer was also the first Filipino to win the World Championships of Performing Arts title.
Many asked Jed on his official SNS if the Facebook response was real because his reply was made via a personal Facebook account and not a verified account. Meanwhile, The Filipino singer, also known as The Voice, took to Twitter and confirmed the reports.
Jed has since posted all the BTS members isolated fancams and Taehyung's leads in all views and likes.
Along with Lea and Jed's impressive resume, the two have enough experience to spot great talent when they see one; thus, their expression of open admiration for BTS V drew explosive reactions from fans. And the fact that two world stars see V's talent bodes well that perhaps one day he'll write his name in lights alongside theirs.
