YoonA Is In Discussion To Be The Female Lead For 'Confidential Assignment 2'
Girls' Generation's YoonA is in talks to star in the sequel of the 2017 hit film "Confidential Assignment" together with Hyun Bin and Yoo Hae Jin!
Munhwa Ilbo reported on August 28 that YoonA received an offer to star as a female lead of "Confidential Assignment 2." Later on that day, SM Entertainment made a statement confirming the reports saying that YoonA has received the offer to star in "Confidential Assignment 2," and she is positively considering the offer.
If YoonA accepts the role, she will be starring with Hyun Bin and Yoo Hae Jin in the sequel whom she co-starred in the first installment of "Confidential Assignment," aired on 2017. The two male actors are also in discussion with the offered role to them.
Furthermore, Daniel Henney was reported to be joining the project as an American detective who used to be in the FBI.
The first installment of the movie, which aired in 2017, attracted 7.81 moviegoers at the time. It was directed by Kim sung Hoo and told the story of a North Korean detective Rim Chul Ryung (Hyun Bin), who works with South Korean detective Kang Jin Tae (Yoo Hae Jin). As per reports, YoonA's role will be expanded upon the sequel. It can be recalled that YoonA's original role played is the sister-in-law of Kang Jin Tae, and the additional function that she's about to undertake will make her the female lead of the second installment.
Being able to play a secondary role in the 2017 movie, YoonA caught many viewers' eyes with her natural prowess in acting. After showing her potential skills in the previous film, it opened her many doors to star in hit films like "E.X.I.T," which surpassed the 9 million moviegoers at the Korea box office. In the early part of 2020, YoonA also confirmed her appearance in the upcoming JTBC drama "Hush" (Working Title).
At present, YoonA is filming for her upcoming movie "Miracle" with Lee Sung Min, Park Jung Min, and Lee Soo Kyung.
