BTS Jin's 'The Astronaut' Tops Argentina's Vega Radio for 53 Weeks: The 'Radio King'
BTS Jin's "The Astronaut" has shown unparalleled popularity by clinching the top spot on an Argentine popular radio channel. Jin's debut solo single "The Astronaut" continues to break records, holding the top spot for 53 weeks on Argentina's "Vega Radio" KPOP TOP40 Ranking with a staggering lead of over 80,000 votes. As of 4 p.m. on November 2, it remains at number one with 85,226 votes, with the vote count rapidly increasing.
In celebration of "The Astronaut" achieving 50 consecutive weeks at number one on KPOP TOP40, Vega Radio released a YouTube video last October on their official Twitter account, dedicating it to all ARMY, generating major buzz.
Additionally, a detailed analysis was conducted in August by Vega Radio, spotlighting the reasons for the unmatched popularity and records set by Jin's "The Astronaut" on the KPOP TOP40 Ranking.
The media outlet expressed, "We at Vega Radio believe that 'The Astronaut' is a musical phenomenon transcending the K-pop genre. This track, co-created by BTS's Jin and iconic band Coldplay, reminds us of the 1980s pop, rock, and synth-wave music culture. These elements ensure that the song will appeal to music fans of all ages and remain a beloved hit for a long time."
"The Astronaut" also illuminated the title of 'Radio King' by ascending to the top of Mexico's "House Radio" Rankig House TOP30 for the 15th time on October 28. It was also chosen as the top track on House Radio's "Rankig House Summer Edition TOP30," showcasing Jin's impressive global appeal.
Furthermore, as the only Asian solo artist, Jin's track was included in the 98-song official playlist for Amazon's AWS SKO 23, further asserting his status as a world-class soloist.
"The Astronaut" is a song gifted to fans by Jin before his military enlistment, characterized by its gentle acoustic guitar melodies and captivating synthesizer sounds. Known primarily for his powerful high notes and belting, a singing style mainly used in musicals, Jin in "The Astronaut" showcases a soft yet steady mid-to-low range voice, exuding a dreamy ambiance and capturing global listeners with a unique charm different from his previous solo tracks.
Even a year after its release, Jin's "The Astronaut" continues to resonate and move people worldwide, especially in South American radio stations and various music charts.
