FIFTY FIFTY Appeals After Contract Suspension Request Denied
Girl group FIFTY FIFTY is set to appeal after their request for a suspension of their exclusive contract with Attrakt Entertainment was denied.
On the 30th, FIFTY FIFTY, consisting of members Keena, Saena, Sio, and Aran, stated, "In response to the court's rejection of our request to suspend the effects of our exclusive contract, we have decided to immediately appeal through our legal representative, Barun Law Firm. We will soon submit our appeal."
Barun Law Firm explained, "The court that handled FIFTY FIFTY's request for contract suspension stated in their decision that 'a full trial is necessary to address issues such as the structure of album and music revenue settlements, undisclosed details of advances paid by music distributors used for FIFTY FIFTY's production, and potential embezzlement by the debtor's CEO.' This point of contention is also something our legal team has requested to clarify through a resumption of questioning."
Furthermore, Barun added, "Apart from the immediate appeal against the decision to deny the suspension, FIFTY FIFTY members also intend to proceed with a main lawsuit in the near future to address these issues."
Previously, on the 28th, the 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court dismissed FIFTY FIFTY's request against Attrakt Entertainment, stating reasons such as "It's hard to conclusively say there was a breach of duty to provide settlement details, insufficient evidence of neglect in health care and consideration, and terminating business with Diverse is not a breach of the exclusive contract."
Immediately after the decision, Donghoon Lee, the attorney from Barun Law Firm representing FIFTY FIFTY, told Star News, "We will discuss with the members and decide on the appeal." Meanwhile, Hongjoon Jeon, the CEO of Attrakt Entertainment, briefly commented to Star News, "We will first consult with our lawyer and plan to focus on the criminal charges against representatives like Seongil An and Director Mo Baek from Diverse."
