BTS's Jin has yet again set a new record on the world's largest music identification platform, Shazam, showcasing his prowess as the 'Shazam King'. Jin's debut solo single, 'The Astronaut', surpassed an impressive 16 million Shazams on August 4, marking an all-time first for K-pop.

'The Astronaut' dethroned Jin's prior record-setting solo OST 'Yours' to become the most Shazamed K-pop song ever. With this, Jin solidifies his reputation, holding the records for both the first and second most Shazamed K-pop tracks. As of 6 a.m. on August 6th, the song has garnered over 16.02 million Shazams, displaying its immense global appeal.

Within just 25 hours of its release, 'The Astronaut' shattered the 2022 record for the fastest K-pop song to reach 100,000 Shazams. By the 12th day, it was the first K-pop song released in 2022 to surpass 1 million Shazams. It continued this meteoric rise by reaching 2 million Shazams in 24 days and 3 million in 38 days, underscoring its overwhelming popularity.

As of 6 a.m. on August 6th, 'The Astronaut' stands at the 65th spot on Shazam's 'Global TOP 200' chart, continuing its impressive charting streak. Furthermore, the track is reigning supreme at No.1 on both the Shazam 'Japan TOP200' and 'Thailand TOP200' charts. It is also charting at the 3rd position on the 'Singapore TOP200' and 'Global K-POP' charts.

'The Astronaut', released last October just before Jin's military enlistment, continues to set records and demonstrates the unparalleled global influence and popularity of superstar Jin, even in his absence from active promotions.
