Amidst FIFTY FIFTY Controversy, Singer Son Seung-yeon Caught in Love Affair with Musical Actor Choi Jaerim
Singer Son Seungyeon is reported to be in a relationship with musical actor Choi Jaerim.
According to an exclusive report by TenAsia on August 2, Son Seungyeon, who works as both a musical actress and singer, and professional musical actor Choi Jaerim are romantically involved.
A very knowledgeable source close to the pair stated, "I know that Son Seungyeon and Choi Jaerim are dating. Those in the industry who should know, do know about their relationship."
The source revealed that the couple grew their love while working in the musical industry. Choi Jaerim, a musical actor who debuted in 2009, has appeared in well-known musical performances such as 'The Phantom of the Opera', 'Les Miserables', and 'Matilda'. Son Seungyeon has also starred in numerous musicals, including her role as 'Elphaba' in the 2021 musical Wicked. As Choi Jaerim is a top-tier musical actor in the country, and Son Seungyeon has been highly praised for her exceptional vocal skills on the musical stage, the pair's relationship has attracted attention.
Both of them shared the stage at the 'Gala Concert The Special' held at Uljin Yeonho Cultural Center last May. Son Seungyeon even openly expressed her admiration for Choi. After her appearance on MBC's 'King of Mask Singer', she confessed, "Choi Jaerim, it goes without saying, I am such a fan." According to several industry insiders, the pair fostered their love by repeatedly visiting each other's performances.
Recently, Son Seungyeon has been caught up in the controversy of being the origin of the 'FIFTY FIFTY dispute', making the situation uneasy. The name of An Sung Il, the CEO of The Gibus, emerged as the person behind the contract dispute with her former agency, Fortune. Son Seungyeon's current agency is The Gibus, and some continue to harshly criticize it as the 'original FIFTY FIFTY'. Choi Jaerim's side has denied the relationship in response to the newspaper's investigation, drawing a line saying, "The love affair is not true." However, a key informant refuted, "They are just denying it because of the controversy surrounding Son Seungyeon."
