Girl group FIFTY FIFTY's controversy is drawing fire, causing past issues involving Son Seung Yeon to resurface, while the company's CEO An Seong Il is now engulfed in allegations of faking his educational background and career history.

The controversy surrounding FIFTY FIFTY is heating up. Son Seung Yeon, who previously faced conflicts over exclusive contracts, has come under criticism again due to similarities with the current FIFTY FIFTY issue. Court judgments from her past case have been brought back into the spotlight.

A media outlet on July24 analyzed and reported on the court ruling from February 7, 2017, concerning the dispute over the existence of an exclusive contract between Son Seung Yeon and her then-agency Fortune.

According to the report, Son Seung Yeon signed an exclusive contract with Fortune in September 2012 and informed the company of the contract termination by mail four years later. She alleged that the agency did not fulfill its obligation to produce a new album, did not receive profits in the company's account, and both failed to support and obstructed her entertainment activities.

However, the court did not accept Son Seung Yeon's claims. Fortune had produced a total of 12 singles, including seven singles, four OSTs, and one CCM, from 2013 to 2016. The practice of receiving profits in a personal account rather than a company account was a broadcast industry custom at the time, intended to prevent some agencies from defaulting on appearance fees.

Fortune, which won the lawsuit in February 2017, asked Son Seung Yeon to return to the company, but she showed no particular response. After enduring conflicts such as a claim for damages and a provisional disposition application to prohibit hindering entertainment activities, they parted ways in April 2018. Two months later, Son Seung Yeon signed a contract with ToAnyonePostLit, led by An Seong Il, who is now at the center of the FIFTY FIFTY controversy.

The process by which Son Seung Yeon parted ways with her former agency and entered into an exclusive contract with ToAnyonePostLit is strikingly similar to the current conflict structure between FIFTY FIFTY and Attrakt. Some netizens have left critical comments on Son Seung Yeon's SNS, expressing their anger. However, Son Seung Yeon has not made any specific statement and is posting content, pictures, and videos about the musical she's participating in, going her own way.

ToAnyonePostLit CEO An Seong Il has also taken a direct hit. A media outlet reported that some of An Seong Il's educational background and career history, who has been pointed out as the person behind the FIFTY FIFTY controversy, had been falsified. According to the report, An Seong Il's official profile states that he graduated from the Business Administration department at Chung-Ang University, but his name was not found in the graduate list of Chung-Ang University's Business Administration department.

Moreover, he claimed that he served as the representative of Beyond Music's rights department from 2020 to April 2023. However, Beyond Music said, "The career of 3 years and 4 months is false." They stated, "He worked as an outsourced service from January 2021 to May 2022, but as there were no results, we ended the service contract after giving eight months of salary."

Regarding Son Seung Yeon's case and An Seong Il's alleged educational and career fabrications, ToAnyonePostLit stated they are "in the process of verification."
