BTS Jungkook's 'Seven' Makes K-pop History: First Solo Artist to Top Spotify Global Chart for Five Consecutive Days
BTS Jungkook has written a new chapter in K-pop history with his debut solo single 'Seven', reigning supreme on Spotify's global chart.
Jungkook released 'Seven' at 1 p.m. (Korean time) on the 14th, and by the 18th of July, the single had topped Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart.
'Seven' garnered over 12,113,033 streams (after filtering) globally, demonstrating its formidable power in the music market. The song has retained its number one position on the global chart for an impressive five consecutive days.
According to the European World Music Awards (WMA), Jungkook has set a new record as the first K-pop solo artist to top the Spotify Global chart for five consecutive days.
Previously, on July 14, 'Seven' entered the 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart with 15,995,378 streams (after filtering) and climbed straight to the number one spot. This achievement made Jungkook the first Korean solo artist to debut at number one on the Spotify Global chart. Additionally, he became the first K-pop artist in Spotify's history to debut at number one on the 'Daily Top Songs United States' chart.
With 'Seven', Jungkook achieved the highest-ever debut-day streams by an Asian artist on Spotify's Global chart, ranked third in the world for filtered debut-day streams, and fifth globally for unfiltered debut-day streams. He also set an all-time record on Spotify by surpassing 52,525,092 cumulative streams (unfiltered) in just three days.
Beyond this, 'Seven' has also been making waves on other global music platforms. It topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 113 countries (regions), continued to rank number one on the Worldwide and European iTunes Top Songs charts for seven consecutive days, thereby furthering its global popularity and record-breaking spree.
