The family of the late actress Kim Sae-ron held a press conference on March 27, presenting what they say is evidence that Kim Sae-ron had a romantic relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun while she was still a minor.

At the press briefing held in Seocho-gu, Seoul, Bu Ji-seok, the lead attorney from Law Firm Buyou representing the bereaved family, unveiled private messages and photographs that allegedly confirm the timeline of their relationship. The attorney emphasized that parts of the messages had been redacted due to privacy concerns, but none of the content was fabricated.

Bu stated, "The family does not wish to continue engaging in a meaningless back-and-forth. They want to put an end to the controversy." He went on to declare, "It is true that Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun while she was underage," and then released selected excerpts of their conversations.

According to the attorney, Kim Sae-ron had made multiple suicide attempts after receiving a legal notice (naeyongjeungmyeong) from Kim Soo-hyun's side, and that the incident pushed her into a state of extreme anxiety. He further stated, "There have been unfounded rumors that the family is pursuing financial gain. There are also baseless claims that Kim Sae-ron and her mother were estranged. We will be taking legal action against the spread of such falsehoods."

Bu added, "The claim by the ex-boyfriend, referred to as Mr. A, that Kim Sae-ron suffered due to family neglect is extremely difficult to accept," vowing to pursue strong legal action against him as well.

The family has maintained that Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun were involved in a romantic relationship from 2015 to 2021, a timeline which begins when Kim Sae-ron was still a minor. Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, previously acknowledged they had dated but insisted it was only for about a year after Kim Sae-ron became an adult.

Recently, matters related to the private life of the late actress Kim Sae Ron have been exposed indiscriminately through the web almost daily, leading to countless speculations as well as criticism directed at the bereaved family. As a result, the family members are suffering from severe emotional and physical distress.

The bereaved family wishes to put an end to this controversy by presenting clear and undeniable evidence. Let me be clear, this press conference is not intended to disclose the reason behind the late Kim Sae Ron's passing. Furthermore, after today's press conference, the bereaved family does not wish to engage in any further meaningless disputes over the truth. What Kim Sae Ron's family wishes first and foremost as of now is to pursue legal action against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho and to correct the lies and misinformation.

The reason for today's press conference is to inform the public of the difficulties that the bereaved family members are currently enduring, and to request an end to the criticism against them. This is not an event intended to disclose the reason why the late Kim Sae Ron took her own life.

The bereaved family initially had no choice but to reveal that Kim Soo Hyun had been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron since she was a minor. This was because the family had been preparing a lawsuit against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, who had not only spread false information about the late actress, but also belittled and ridiculed her, contributing significantly to her psychological distress.

However, in response, Kim Soo Hyun initially denied ever dating her. Even after further evidence confirmed their relationship, he has not offered a single apology and is now making another false claim that they only dated after she became an adult.
