Hours before actor Kim Soo-hyun was scheduled to address allegations regarding his past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron, the controversial YouTube channel "Garo Sero Research Institute" (known as GaSeYeon) released additional private photos of the actor.

On March 30, GaSeYeon uploaded a new image to its official account featuring a short-haired Kim Soo-hyun seated at a dining table, captioned, "This was the spicy chicken stew made with great effort by high school second-year student Kim Sae-ron at 11:20 p.m."

They continued, "And the song you sang to Kim Sae-ron that night at 1 a.m.-'Only One Person.' You sing decently, I'll give you that. It was the theme song for 'Moon Embracing the Sun,' right?" The post appeared to mock Kim and draw further attention to their alleged history.

The channel followed up with a warning: "We can no longer tolerate the harassment of Kim Sae-ron's bereaved family. You've already hurt her enough. We've heard that you'll be bringing an LKB lawyer to the press conference. Depending on your response, we'll respond accordingly."

On March 31, the day of Kim Soo-hyun's press conference, GaSeYeon previewed new thumbnail images and announced plans to be present at the site. One photo featured Kim holding a camera, with the caption: "Soo-hyun, is this your first time seeing the center photo?"

The actor's agency previously announced that he would make a statement at the conference but would not take questions, raising skepticism about the sincerity of his engagement with the controversy.

In response, Sulli's older brother-who has also been demanding clarity from Kim Soo-hyun regarding explicit scenes in the film "Real"-mocked the format of the conference. He wrote on social media, "Calling dozens of reporters and then saying there'll be no Q&A? What kind of press conference is that? Someone make me a celebrity too-I think I'd hold a better press conference than you."

Previously, on March 10, Kim Sae-ron's family alleged through GaSeYeon that Kim Soo-hyun had dated the late actress for six years, beginning when she was in middle school, from November 19, 2015, to July 7, 2021. They claimed that after Kim Sae-ron left her agency, Gold Medalist sent a legal notice demanding the repayment of ₩700 million, which they say caused her severe emotional distress. On March 27, the family held a press conference and released KakaoTalk messages between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron as further evidence.

Initially, Kim Soo-hyun's side denied the relationship altogether, but after mounting evidence emerged, the actor's agency admitted to dating Kim Sae-ron from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020, insisting it occurred after she had become an adult.

Compounding the controversy, Sulli's family has also come forward to demand an explanation from Kim Soo-hyun and director Lee Sa-rang (also known as Lee Ro-be), regarding the explicit and nude scenes in the 2017 film "Real." The family said, "We were told the bed scene with Sulli and Kim Soo-hyun was not detailed in the original script. We heard that a body double was available on set, so why was Sulli persuaded to film the scene herself? We want answers."

Kim Soo-hyun's press conference marks his first public statement 20 days after the allegations about his relationship with Kim Sae-ron surfaced.
