FIFTY FIFTY in Controversy: Evidence of External Influence Emerge, Attrakt Entertainment Reveals Recorded Conversation
Attrakt Entertainment, the managing agency of the K-pop group FIFTY FIFTY, has unveiled a recording of a phone call between CEO Jeon Hong-jun and Yoon Mo, the executive director of Warner Music Korea. The revelation has shed new light on the ongoing controversy involving the K-pop group.
According to the leaked phone call, Warner Music Korea's Yoon Mo had proposed a buyout of FIFTY FIFTY, worth KRW 20 billion, to Attract Entertainment's Jeon Hong-jun, who appeared to be entirely unaware of the proposition.
An Attrakt representative commented on the released recording, stating that the CEO of The Givers, Ahn Seong-il, had been carrying out the buyout deal for FIFTY FIFTY without Jeon Hong-jun's approval. They added that further criminal activities from Ahn Seong-il were being investigated.
Previously, on June 26, Attrakt had sent a certified mail to Warner Music Korea, pointing out the issue's relevance to the current case. Warner Music Korea denied the allegations on the same day. On the 5th of the upcoming month, a court hearing is scheduled regarding the injunction to suspend the exclusive contract filed against Attract by the four members of FIFTY FIFTY.
Below is the content of the released phone call, dated May 9:
Yoon Mo (Warner Music Korea): "There is something I need to confirm."
Jeon Hong-jun (Attrakt): "Yes, sure."
Yoon Mo: "We previously made an offer of 20 billion for a buyout to Ahn Seong-il."
Jeon Hong-jun: "I did not hear about that."
Yoon Mo: "You didn't hear?"
Jeon Hong-jun: "No."
Jeon Hong-jun: "What is this buyout?"
Yoon Mo: "It's about the label."
Jeon Hong-jun: "What about the label?"
Yoon Mo: "So, in simple terms, we would acquire everything, including the group."
Jeon Hong-jun: "No, no."
