BTS Jungkook's Solo Album Countdown: Can He Conquer the Charts Again?
The globally popular band BTS is expected to rock the global charts once again, this time with a solo album from their member, Jungkook. Jungkook is the sixth member of the team to venture out as a solo artist, with the release of his first solo album, 'Seven,' scheduled for 1 PM on the 14th of this month.
Earlier on the 2nd, Big Hit Music, the group's agency, stirred up anticipation by releasing an image of the promotional schedule for 'Seven' on their official social media. A few of Jungkook's solo songs, previously released as free music, will be officially released on music platforms on the 3rd, and concept photos and preview videos will follow to set the mood.
There have also been rumors about actress Han So-hee making an appearance in the music video, which added fuel to the fire. Reports surfaced on the 1st stating that Han So-hee had wrapped up the shooting of the 'Seven' music video in Los Angeles, USA. When asked, Big Hit Music responded cautiously, stating they couldn't confirm this information.
Given the buzz created by these early reports, it's expected that Jungkook's solo songs will bring a fresh wave of excitement to the music scene, both in Korea and globally, upon release. Jungkook has previously achieved good results on the American Billboard charts with his solo songs 'Euphoria' and 'My Time', his collaboration with pop star Charlie Puth on 'Left and Right,' and the official theme song 'Dreamers' for the '2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup.'
The previously released solo albums of other members have seen remarkable success, which indicates that Jungkook's solo album dominating the global charts is only a matter of time. Jimin's first solo album, 'Face,' released last March, brought him to the top of the Billboard 'Hot 100' with his title track 'Like Crazy.' This was the highest record set by a Korean solo artist.
The other members, including Suga, J-Hope, RM, and Jin, who released their solo albums afterward, also made their names on the high ranks of the 'Billboard 200,' demonstrating BTS's impressive strength as solo artists.
In particular, the title of Jungkook's solo album, 'Seven,' resonates deeply with fans, known as the "ARMY," and is expected to create a big impact. The number 'seven' signifies the number of members in BTS and is a symbol of their strong bond, as all members have this number tattooed on their bodies.
Given that members Jin and J-Hope have enlisted in the military and the others are scheduled to follow, the release of 'Seven' will carry additional emotional significance for both BTS and their fans.
The promotional poster for 'Seven,' which features Jungkook's hand with an 'ARMY' tattoo, is already receiving an explosive response. As 'Seven' is reported to be a lively summer song that perfectly matches the season, the anticipation for the wave it's expected to bring is soaring.
