DAY6 Set To Come Out As A Sub-unit For Upcoming Album
DAY6 is in the works for an upcoming album release without other band members and will continue as a subunit.
JYP Entertainment announced DAY6's sub-unit composes of the band's youngest members – Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon. The record label also stated that there is still no news of the album release and album details.
On August 6, JYP Entertainment confirmed by stating, "It is true that DAY6 is making a comeback as a unit. We are currently planning for a release sometime towards the end of August."
The record label continued, "We will reveal more information, including the exact date, at a later time." DAY6's upcoming album is reported to feature songs composed by members Wonpil, Dowoon, and Young K.
Before the release of DAY6's previous mini-album 'The Book of Us: The Demon,' the band announced that they would be postponing all group activities and promotions due to the concern for some of the band members' mental health.
Meanwhile, DAY6 member, Young K, appeared on Eric Nam's 'Daebak Show' to share his stories about his days in Canada and moving to Korea. Young K stated that when he lived in Canada, his only friends were Korean-Canadian, and they would have home-made covers of famous K-pop Stars.
DAY6's Young K continued that he and his friends did that because Youtube was on the rise, and they didn't have so much to do. Later on, Young K and his friends started a band called 'Kiss Me Ever So Softly' or 'K-mess.'
After that, Young K's band at the time started doing live shows and posted it on Youtube. After a month, JYP Entertainment emailed him saying the record label like his covers and if he can go to JYP Entertainment to audition.
However, Young K replied that he couldn't go because he was in Canada, but the record label retorted, saying they will have a world audition, and Canada was part of the tour. "And the rest was history," added Young K.
