BLACKPINK's Jennie Jets Off to Cannes Film Festival, While Rosé and Jisoo Return Home
BLACKPINK's Jennie is set to attend the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
On May 20th and 21st (local time), BLACKPINK held a standalone concert as part of their world tour 'BORN PINK' at Galaxy Arena in Macao.
After wrapping up the concert, the members, true to their global star status, went their separate ways for individual commitments. Jennie, who was spotted enjoying a date with BTS member V in the streets of Paris on the 17th, flew to Macao for the concert. Following a successful performance, she boarded a plane back to France to attend the Cannes Film Festival, where she is slated to grace the red carpet and premiere events as an actress, not as a singer.
On the 11th, YG Entertainment confirmed to Newsen, "Jennie will be attending the Cannes Film Festival on the 22nd."
Last year, Jennie expressed her excitement through YG, saying, "I wanted to be part of it as soon as I read the script because it was so captivating. I'm very excited. I hope you will keep an eye on me with warm regard as I will work hard."
Jennie's acting debut, the American HBO drama series 'The Idol,' has been invited to the non-competitive section of the Cannes Film Festival. The drama delves into the relationships surrounding an emerging pop idol and the world of the music industry. Besides Jennie, global top artists like The Weeknd, Lily-Rose Depp, and Troye Sivan are also part of the cast.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK members Rosé and Jisoo returned home via Incheon International Airport on the 22nd after the Macao concert.
Before the Macao concert on the 17th, Rosé made a surprise appearance at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet event. She was invited as a global ambassador for a luxury brand, stunning everyone in an enchanting black dress, showcasing her unique elegance.
In the meantime, BLACKPINK is gearing up for stadium concerts in Paris, France, and four cities in North America, following a successful Asian tour.
After their performance at Coachella in the United States, they are set to headline the 'Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival' in the UK in July, a first for a Korean artist.
