Stepping Back: Stray Kids' Bang Chan Apologizes for 'Unmindful Remarks'
Stray Kids member Bang Chan recently made a public apology for his comments made during a live broadcast. The apology was posted on the 17th via Stray Kids' official social media account.
In his message, Bang Chan expressed, "I apologize to those who were made uncomfortable by my comments during a recent live broadcast. I have reflected deeply on how my words and actions can impact others."
He clarified, "I didn't intend to single out any specific artist, and the comments being mentioned currently are completely unrelated to the artist in question. I feel regretful for any artist that may have been hurt by my careless remarks. I sincerely apologize." He also reassured fans that he would be more cautious in the future, saying, "I will always be careful to prevent such incidents from happening again."
Previously, during a live broadcast, Bang Chan responded to a fan's query about recording for KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank in Paris' by mentioning artists not returning greetings. He said, "The generation may have changed, and my comments may sound like an old grump, but it seems like greeting others is no longer a basic courtesy. I am not trying to curse anyone." His comment indirectly targeted younger artists who did not return his greeting. He did not reveal who these artists were at the time, but various speculations followed, leading to controversy and an eventual apology from Bang Chan himself.
Meanwhile, Stray Kids, the group Bang Chan is a part of, is scheduled to make a comeback with their third full album '5-STAR' on June 2.
