'Center Idol' Dreams: CMDM Takes Bold First Steps with Silver-Haired Debut
The group CMDM under Command The-M Entertainment has made a confident start.
CMDM's first single "Back to the Future" showcase took place on April 27 (KST) at Shinhan Play Square Live Hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
The team CMDM (members: Choi Byunghoon, Kim Hyunhah, Oh Junhyoung, Chae Heeju, Lee Nohyul and Kim Seungho) signifies the ambition of the six members to lead the next generation of K-pop like commanders, directing the stage as if they are commanding officers.
At the event, the members of CMDM shared their thoughts on their debut with a somewhat nervous demeanor.
Seungho said, "I feel excited and nervous. As we release each album, we will show our growth musically." Heeju expressed her excitement, saying, "I've had many thrilling moments as I embraced the profession of being an idol. I spent my trainee period like that, and now I'm debuting. It's so exciting and feels like a dream."
Nohyul also shared his resolution, saying, "The word 'debut' still doesn't feel real. I wonder if making a stage I only saw on TV is a dream or a reality. I'm happy to be able to touch the fans' hearts. I won't lose my initial determination."
Their debut album, "Back to the Future," contains the time CMDM's members spent running toward their dream of debuting. On this day, Commander Man performed their debut song "Already go ready" live, showcasing the fresh energy and spirit of the rookies.
Junhyoung said, "The title 'Already go ready' has the subtitle 'Olle-li-golle-li' as a language play. It shows that we are ready to go crazy on any stage. Like our team name implies, we'll confidently stand in front of many people, lead the stage, and lead K-pop."
Heeju expressed her affection for the song, saying, "When I first heard the title, I thought it would do well. It's an unusual title, so I thought it would stay in many people's memories. I was hooked from the bass part at the beginning of the song. I liked it even more thinking that it's the song announcing our start."
CMDM named the harmony and individuality of their six members as the team's strength. They also confidently explained their unique silver hair debut, saying, "We wanted to draw attention since it's our debut. All the members seem to be well suited to silver hair."
Seungho mentioned, "The six members have different faces and personalities, and that creates harmony, which is both an attractive and strong point. We will show a more attractive appearance by harmonizing various charms."
Lastly, CMDM named Seventeen as their role model and shared their goal for this album's promotion. Junhyoung expressed his ambition, saying, "I want to earn the title of 'Center Idol.' I want to become the 'Center Idol' that attracts all the spotlight when Commander Man is mentioned."
