GFriend's SinB follows the late Moonbin's SNS account, bidding farewell to an 18-year friendship
Girl group GFriend's SinB has followed the late Moonbin's SNS account, who was her friend for 18 years. SinB followed Moonbin's social networking service account on the 21st.
Prior to this, SinB had only followed the accounts of her fellow GFriend members Sowon, Yerin, Yuju, Eunha, and Umji. However, after Moonbin's passing, she added the late singer's account to her follow list.
Born in 1998, SinB was a close friend of Moonbin's. The two, both from Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, learned to dance together during their childhood. They also shared similar experiences in the entertainment industry, having debuted around the same time.
In fact, Moonbin mentioned his friendship with SinB in a GQ Korea interview last February. At the time, Moonbin said, "It was so amazing when SinB, whom I've known since I was 8, made her debut with GFriend." He also jokingly answered when asked when he thinks of his friends the most, "I don't really want to see Eunbi (her real name). I don't miss her that much." Upon hearing this, fellow member Sanha said, "They're really 'true friends.'"
Concerns for SinB, who was a close friend of Moonbin, have surged following the news of Moonbin's death. After the news of Moonbin's passing, worried fans flooded SinB's SNS account with comments. SinB temporarily restricted the comment function on the afternoon of the 20th.
SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan, who was also born in 1998, was known to be a close friend of Moonbin. He also followed the late singer's account after Moonbin passed away.
Meanwhile, Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, around 8:10 p.m. on the 19th. Police are investigating the exact cause of death, believing Moonbin took his own life. His agency, Fantagio, said on the 20th, "Moonbin has suddenly left us and become a star in the sky. The Astro members, who have been with us for a long time, our Fantagio colleagues, artists, and all employees are deeply mourning the deceased in great sadness and shock."
The late singer's funeral parlor is set up at the Seoul Asan Hospital funeral home. The funeral procession is scheduled for the 22nd.
