(G)I-DLE Returns: The Lionesses Join the May Comeback Battle
The popular K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE is set to join the May comeback lineup.
According to an Xsports News report on April 13, (G)I-DLE, consisting of Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua, have confirmed their May comeback and are in the final stages of preparation. The group will be releasing new music for the first time in approximately seven months since their fifth mini-album "I love" in October last year.
In March of last year, (G)I-DLE released their first full-length album "I NEVER DIE," proving their staying power after a hiatus of about one year and two months. The title track "TOMBOY" dominated various music charts and created the "TOMBOY syndrome."
Following up with their fifth mini-album 'I love' in October, the group achieved a remarkable 284% growth rate by surpassing 678,000 copies in initial sales. The title track 'Nxde' also topped domestic music charts, achieving a "Perfect All-Kill (PAK)" and marking their second consecutive hit. Moreover, they entered the Billboard 200 chart for the first time in their career at No. 71, increasing their global influence.
Additionally, (G)I-DLE members, including leader Soyeon, have showcased their musical prowess by participating directly in their albums. The group's unique musical style and meaningful messages have been widely praised for their artistry and popularity. Fans are eagerly anticipating the new colors (G)I-DLE will reveal in their upcoming release.
From their debut song "LATATA" to "HANN," "Senorita," "Oh my god," "LION," "TOMBOY," and "Nxde," (G)I-DLE has consistently showcased their distinct musical style. All eyes are on the group to see how they will perform amid the fierce competition during the "May comeback battle" featuring many big-name artists.
