Actor Park Bo Gum Receives Highest Pay Ever In Korean Entertainment Industry For Renewed Brand Endorsement Deal
"Eider Korea", a French outdoor brand, has confirmed that they have renewed their endorsement contract with Korean actor Park Bo Gum after he returned from his mandatory military service.
Park Bo Gum had originally been signed on as Eider's brand endorsement model in 2017. The actor then endorsed the sportswear/outdoor brand for three years, becoming popular as the "human Eider". In fact, the best-selling padded jacket by the brand is commonly called the Park Bo Gum padding.
Now, after Park Bo Gum returned from his mandatory military service in the marines earlier in 2022, he officially decided to continue as Eider's face. Reportedly, Park Bo Gum has been offered the highest pay for an endorsement deal in the Korean entertainment industry, once again proving the top-tier status of the star in the field of brand endorsement.
The actor is expected to resume his activities as the official model for the brand in the fall.
Park made his debut as an actor in 2011, with a supporting role in "Blind", a thriller film. He got his first prominent role in "Wonderful Mama", a weekend drama, where he played the role of a playboy.
Park Bo Gum gained popularity for his diverse range of roles in television and films, such as the 2018 release "Encounter" where he played the role of a free-spirited man who is in love with an older woman. He also got a wide appreciation for the 2015 release "Hello Monster" where he enacted a psychopathic lawyer, as well as for playing a genius player of Go in "Reply 1988".
Other roles for which he gained popularity include the 2016 hit "Love in the Moonlight" and the 2020 release "Record of Youth", where he played a character shown overcoming several hardships to become a successful actor.
Park was also the youngest celebrity to be named Television Actor of the Year bestowed by Gallup Korea. He was also the first ever actor to dominate Forbes Korea's Korea Power Celebrity list.
The actor enlisted in the navy military band on August 31, 2020, as a cultural promotion soldier, and in November 2021 he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. He got an early discharge from his obligatory duty on February 21, 2022. During his time in service, the actor got a license to be a hairdresser.
