World-famous K-pop stars BTS is scheduled to meet with the President of the United States, Joe Biden, to talk about a variety of pressing matters including hate crimes against Asians.

The event is going to take place on Tuesday, May 31. Incidentally, in the US, May is celebrated as the Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month.

The White House released a statement ahead of the upcoming event, saying that the President and BTS will also be discussing the importance of inclusion and diversity and the Bangtan Boys' platform as youth ambassadors who spread a message of positivity and hope across the globe.

The official statement mentioned that previously, the US President had talked about his commitment to combating the rise of hate crimes against Asians and signed into law, the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act last year in May. It provided law enforcement with resources to investigate, identify, and report hate crimes and ensure that hate crimes information is more accessible to AA and NHPI communities.

BTS leader RM also wrote a post on Weverse, which mentioned that the group would be going to America. The post roughly translates to Namjoon saying that he is going for a good cause and that he will go and come back well. The artist also shared that he has only seen the White House from afar, but now they were going to enter it.

The Kings of K-Pop has partnered with United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for Love Myself, an anti-violence campaign. They have promised to help promote U.N. goals for 2030, including achieving gender equality, preserving the planet, and ending extreme poverty. The band also performed at the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Namjoon, every choice humans make is the beginning of change, not the end. Since making its debut in 2013, the widely-popular, hugely-talented, and much-loved group has earned worldwide recognition for its self-produced music and activism, which includes publicly calling out racism against Asians.

BTS has topped the Billboard Hot 100s chart numerous times and won various, prestigious awards. They have also received two Grammy nominations. The group's new anthology album "Proof" will release on June 10.

The upcoming album will comprise three CDs featuring new songs, old hits, fan favorites, and previously unheard demos. Each member of the band has also chosen two personal favorites, especially those that inspire them, to feature in the album.
