B.A.P member Himchan has been embroiled in several scandals in the past, and the worst is that he was convicted for sexual assault for an incident that happened in 2018. A woman accused him of assault when they spent time together at a guest house with four other people.

In February of this year, B.A.P's Himchan was sentenced to 10 months in prison by the Seoul Central District Court for the said offense. He was also ordered to attend a 40-hour treatment program for offenders who committed a crime of sexual nature.

The 30-year-old former singer filed an appeal in March 2021, but the prosecutors also filed an appeal against him, and there is no new update regarding this matter yet. As The Korea Times previously reported, Himchan was sentenced, but the court did not immediately put him to jail so he can have some time to ask for forgiveness from the victim.

Now, in his recent letter of apology that was translated by Soompi, he apologized to fans for belatedly speaking out about his past actions. He explained that he stayed quiet for a long time because the media have written articles and stories that are far from the truth.

"I'm sorry for making you worry about various incidents," Himchan wrote in the letter. "I am aware of my negligence and mistakes, and I apologize for everything. Please forgive me for only being able to repay those who have believed in me this way."

At the end of his letter, he also wrote "Goodbye" and thanked the fans for everything. Meanwhile, in a shocking new update, Allkpop reported that after posting his apology letter on June 13, B.A.P's Himchan attempted to take his own life.

Based on the report, the former singer tried to end his life in his home on the evening of June 13, and this was not long after posting his apology on social media. A tragedy was prevented after friends were said to have contacted Himchan's mother as they got worried over his safety. Fortunately, he is now in stable condition at home.
