Kim Yo Han Talks About His Change In Career And Adapting To It
Kim Yo Han, HyunA, Jang Young Nam, and Shin So Yul showed up as guests on the August 26 episode of MBC’s “Radio Star” talk show.
During the talk show, Kim Yo Han mentioned his career as a singer, athlete, and more. He said that he joined taekwondo for 13 years and won twice at the national sports fest. He also shared that he went to a university on a scholarship, but got injured during his training. His ankle was not in good condition since middle school and developed into a chronic injury.
He also added that his father was so strict and was in charge of the taekwondo team in another country. Kim Yo Han then realized that the path taken as an athlete was not for him. So, he told his coach he would stop playing taekwondo.
Kim Yo Han made up his mind to become an entertainer and auditioned as an actor. He worked hard because he was given a chance and gave good results on his first time singing in the practice room for the “Produce X 101” video.
Kim Yo Han sustained the ankle injury that halted him from totally participating in promotions. He again explained that he already has a not so right conditioned ankle, and he had twisted it so that the ligament would tear during the pre-taped recording. As much as he wanted to do the recording again, he could not move and rushed into the emergency room for painkillers. He was being told by other members not to go back on stage first, and there are further opportunities. But he insisted because of his perspective that they have worked hard and prepared for so long. He felt upset about himself for not performing with the group on their first music show.
He also talked about the malicious statement that arose after his popularity on “Produce X 101”. He explained that before he entered the entertainment industry, he knows nothing. He had been receiving much love on “Produce X 101,” but in the long run with being famous came those rumors an malicious comments. He even became anxious about going outside and meet people that might be angry at him. HyunA said with sympathy that when he saw peers and people like Kim Yo Han working so hard for promotion, she felt pity and loved to cheer them on.
