Kim Jung Hyun Confirmed To Star In Historical Fusion Drama With Shin Hye Sun
Confirmed to star in the new tvN drama 'Queen Cheorin', Kim Jung Hyun, Shin Hye Sun, Bae Jong Ok, and Kim Tae Woo are ready to impress viewers.
'Queen Cheorin' will be a historical fusion drama about a man living in modern times whose soul gets trapped in the body of a queen from the Joseon Dynasty. The drama will tell the story from a refreshing perspective while showcasing a new type of genre as it takes on the fight against gender stereotypes, Soompi reported.
The plot starts with Jang Bong-Hwan who works as a chef at the President's Blue House. He has a free spirit, but his spirit somehow finds its way into the body of Queen Kim So-Yong (Shin Hye-Sun) in the Joseon period.
Kim Jung Hyun will be playing the role of King Cheoljong, a figurehead, who is gentle and easygoing but hides the fact that he has strong aspects. Bae Jong-Ok will playing the role of Queen Sunwon who is the late King Sunjo’s wife. She wields the true power in the country and, thus, relegates King Cheoljong as just a figurehead.
Meanwhile, Kim Tae-Woo will be playing the role of an ambitious younger brother of Queen Sunwon. The actor that will be playing as Jang Bong-Hwan has not yet been revealed by the production team.
The drama’s production team has released a statement saying, “This is a drama where the charms of the characters are as important as the unique subject matter. The actors, who are all sure of their own colors, will maximize the charms of their characters. You will be able to see the appeal of the perfectly new historical fusion comedy. Please look forward to it.”
The premiere date for ‘Queen Cheorin’ that is set to be aired on tvN is yet to be confirmed.
