BTS Jungkook Crowned 'King of Summer Hits' as 'Seven' Tops Major Korean Music Charts, Peaks at 5th on Daily Charts
BTS's Jungkook is sweeping the top spots of major domestic music platforms with his solo single 'Seven', embodying the aura of a 'King of Summer Hits'.
Jungkook's first solo single 'Seven', released on July 14th (KST), has demonstrated strong music power by simultaneously taking first place on the main charts of major domestic music sites Melon, Genie, and Bugs.
As of midnight on the 17th, 'Seven' seized the first place on the main charts such as Melon's Top 100, Genie's Real-Time Top 200, and Bugs' Real-Time chart. Especially, 'Seven' secured its name on Melon's Top 100 No.1 spot from July 15th to 17th without a break, and peaked at No.5 on the daily chart on the 17th.
On the 17th, it broke its own peak in Melon's Top 100 by recording 55,800 users in an hour and 2,570,000 users in 24 hours.
Despite being an English song, 'Seven' is also making a popular run, recording its own highest ranking at No.4 on Flo. Jungkook's solo song 'Still With You', which was released recently through domestic and foreign music platforms after being announced as a free music format, also broke its own highest ranking by ranking 14th on Melon's Top 100 on the 17th.
Previously, 'Seven' set a new record by becoming the fastest male solo artist to reach No.1 on Melon's 'Top 100' in just 11 hours after its release. Along with this, 'Seven' also topped the 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart on Spotify, the world's largest music platform, for two consecutive days starting July 15th.
'Seven' set a debut record by achieving the most daily streams (after filtering) by an Asian artist on the 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart on July 14th, a day before, with 15,995,378 times, and went straight to No.1 on the global chart, becoming the first Korean solo artist to do so. Jungkook showed his power by debuting at No.1 on the 'Daily Top Songs US' chart on Spotify with 'Seven', becoming the first K-pop artist in Spotify's history.
On July 15, Jungkook also topped the Oricon Daily Digital Single Ranking in Japan with the 'Clean Version' of 'Seven' for two consecutive days. The 'Explicit Version' of the song was ranked third.
Last June, Jungkook heated up the summer by releasing the summer song 'Left and Right', a collaboration with American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth. 'Left and Right' entered Billboard's main single chart 'Hot 100' for 17 consecutive weeks, making Jungkook the 'first' and 'longest' K-pop idol to stay on the 'Hot 100' for 17 weeks in a row.
With 'Seven', Jungkook is on a winning streak on major music platforms worldwide, including No.1 on iTunes Top Songs chart in 106 countries (regions), and over 700 million streams on Spotify, the world's largest music platform.
