Park Sung-yeon Captivates With 'Love's Washing Machine': 'Try Washing Your Love Easily and Joyfully'

On the morning of July 10th, a showcase was held at Ilji Art Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul to commemorate the release of Park Sung-yeon's fourth digital single (DS) album, 'Love's Washing Machine'.

'Love's Washing Machine' is a fusion EDM Trot genre song with a combination of retro synth sound and a melody that both adults and children can enjoy. It's a fun song with Park Sung-yeon's sexy voice and easy-to-follow point choreography.

Like a washing machine spins and cleans clothes, the song cleverly uses the washing machine as a metaphor for a heart that wants love. With catchy lyrics, an exciting rhythm that lingers in the ear after one or two listens, Park Sung-yeon's velvety tone and excellent vocals naturally make you move your shoulders.

Park Sung-yeon spoke about 'Love's Washing Machine', saying, "It is a song made with an easy melody and exciting lyrics. We've used a washing machine as a metaphor for a heart that wants love."

She also mentioned that she brewed the taste of Trot deeper than in her previous songs. Park Sung-yeon confidently said, "The last song also had an addictive melody and was exciting. It was closer to an idol. This song is more mature. I think it's closer to a ripe peach-like Trot."

This song was composed, written, and arranged by Hong Jin-young, who previously worked on Lee Seung-chul's 'That Person', 'Have you forgotten', 'Shout', 'Love is so hard', Ali's 'Promise', SG Wannabe's 'I love you', Lim Young-woong's remake song 'Love always runs away', and Lee Chan-won's 'Convenience Store', increasing the perfection of the song.

In particular, the fact that Hong Jin-young's previous work was a collaboration with top Trot stars Lim Young-woong and Lee Chan-won likely added both anticipation and pressure for Park Sung-yeon. She said, "I couldn't be without pressure. However, I was able to overcome the pressure because I loved the good song 'Love's Washing Machine' so much. It was a grateful experience."

The advice she received from composer Hong raised the perfection of Park Sung-yeon's 'Love's Washing Machine'. She revealed, "I tried to sing with a lighter feeling. However, the composer asked for a little more Trot atmosphere."

These days, numerous Trot programs are pouring out and many new Trot singers are being born. Park Sung-yeon mentioned 'stubbornness' as her own point of differentiation and strength. She said, "I always sing when I'm obsessed with it. No matter what anyone says, I always maintain my stubbornness as my own artist. It's important to me whether it suits me or is addictive. I think such songs fit me best."

On the other hand, Park Sung-yeon made her official debut in the music industry with her first single 'PEACH' in 2018. In 2019, she gained recognition for her skills in the TV Chosun Trot audition program 'Tomorrow's Miss Trot' with her goddess-like visuals, bubbling charm, and excellent singing ability. Since then, she has released various Trot songs, and formed a mixed dance group OUTLET with singers An Sung-hoon and Young-gi, receiving much love. She recently signed an exclusive contract with DoubleV Korea and P&B Entertainment, and signaled an all-round activity.
