Sulli’s Brother Speaks Out Ahead of Kim Soo-hyun’s Press Conference, Criticizes Kim, Demands Truth
The late Sulli's older brother, known as Mr. A, went live on social media on March 31 ahead of actor Kim Soo-hyun's emergency press conference, engaging with viewers and once again raising concerns over the controversial bed scene in the 2017 film Real.
Earlier on March 28, Mr. A made waves by publicly calling out Kim Soo-hyun and the film's director Lee Sa-rang (now known as Lee Rove), both of whom were involved in Real, which starred Kim and featured Sulli in a supporting role.
Mr. A has alleged that the bed scene involving Sulli and Kim Soo-hyun was not originally specified in the film's script. He claimed that although a body double was present on set, Sulli was instead persuaded to shoot the bed and nude scenes herself. He added that, despite statements at the time suggesting the body double was absent due to health reasons, multiple attendees at Sulli's funeral stated the body double had in fact been present during filming.
During the live broadcast, Mr. A said, "There was a moment when my sister expressed relief knowing a body double was available. But in the end, they shot the scene without one." He continued, "I think director Lee Jung-sub and actress Han Ji-eun hold the key. What they know is probably the most definitive. But of course, the clearest answers must come from Kim Soo-hyun himself."
Regarding Kim Soo-hyun's press conference, which was scheduled for later that day, Mr. A said bluntly, "Today's press conference is completely useless. It's just frustrating."
When viewers brought up Sulli's former boyfriend Choiza, Mr. A responded firmly, "That's a personal matter between the two. It's something that shouldn't be touched," expressing concern that attention might shift away from Kim Soo-hyun and the allegations he raised.
He emphasized again, "Even Choiza knows what I'm talking about. But there's nothing in this situation that involves him right now."
Concluding his live stream, Mr. A addressed criticism that he is attention-seeking: "People say I'm doing this for attention, but this is the bare minimum I can do within my power." He expressed his frustration with the lack of accountability and transparency surrounding Sulli's experience during the filming of Real.
