The agency announced that legal steps are already underway against individuals propagating such damaging material, and reiterated their readiness to take further action if this malign behavior continues.
Fantagio also pledged to ramp up their surveillance of these posts and assured fans of their commitment to executing legal action without hesitation.
Fantagio's full statement reads:
"Greetings. We are Fantagio.
We express our sincere gratitude to all the fans who have extended their love and support for ASTRO. While we intended to handle this matter quietly, mindful of our concerned fans, we have found it necessary to provide a brief update on our course of action.
We've recently encountered a disturbing rise in extremely malicious posts that have crossed the line. Consequently, we feel it is no longer possible for us to remain passive.
We are currently pursuing legal action and will remain unwavering in our stance against such incidents in the future.
Our vigilance in monitoring these harmful posts will be heightened, and we pledge to persistently counter such content through the means of law. We wish to underscore that there will be no leniency in the enforcement of our legal strategies.
Thank you."
Earlier, on June 13, Fantagio had shared a heartfelt letter from Moonbin's mother via ASTRO's official fan café.
Expressing her gratitude to everyone who commemorated her son, Moonbin's mother opened up about the distressing rumors and damaging posts that are currently being circulated online.
In the letter, she implored that Moonbin should not become a subject of idle chatter and pleaded against the propagation of baseless claims or rumors about her son.
Moonbin's mother stated, "While it warms my heart to see the outpouring of love for my son, it deeply pains me to witness the baseless rumors floating around in certain circles."
"As a mother, it is heartbreaking to see such rumors, and I worry about those who may be hurt by these falsehoods, including the fans who miss my son."
"I earnestly request that we put an end to all unfounded claims or rumors about my son, as I do not want him to be reduced to mere gossip. My hope is that the fans, whom Bin held so dear, will not be left heartbroken."
