BTS Jimin's Appearance on 'Inkigayo' Canceled; Pre-recorded Performance to Be Aired Instead
BTS member Jimin's scheduled appearance on the popular music program 'Inkigayo' has been canceled.
According to an exclusive report by Star News on April 1st, Jimin, who recently debuted as a solo artist, will not appear on the live broadcast of SBS's 'Inkigayo' on April 2nd. Instead, a pre-recorded performance of his solo title track 'Like Crazy' will be aired.
Jimin released his first solo album 'FACE' on March 24th and has been promoting his title track 'Like Crazy' on various music shows.
He previously announced a schedule of appearances on music programs, starting with Mnet's 'M Countdown' on March 30th, KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank' on March 31st, and 'Inkigayo' on April 2nd, showcasing his new song 'Like Crazy.'
Prior to this, he appeared on both 'M Countdown' and 'Music Bank' live broadcasts, winning first place on both shows and sharing his joy with the fans (ARMY) by expressing his gratitude for the awards. Jimin was expected to be a strong contender for first place on 'Inkigayo' on April 2nd. For now, fans can only anticipate his pre-recorded performance.
Meanwhile, Jimin's 'FACE' album has set new records, selling over 1.45 million copies as of March 31st, according to the Hanteo Chart. This makes him the highest first-week seller among K-pop solo artists and a 'million-seller' within a day of release.
'FACE' also topped the Oricon Weekly Combined Album Ranking in Japan for the week of March 20th-26th, while 'Like Crazy' reached No. 8 on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100 for the week of March 31st to April 6th.
