AKMU Officially Renews Contract Under YG Entertainment
The sibling duo has officially extended their exclusive contracts under YG Entertainment's management!
On January 26, Tuesday, the sibling duo AKMU is reported to have renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment following the seven-year expiration of their old one. The duo has agreed to renew their contract for another five years, YG confirmed.
Lee Chanyuk first commended YG Entertainment for valuing its artist above anything else and how this is hard to find from other labels in South Korea. The fact that AKMU and YG Entertainment did not encounter a conflict for the past seven years made Lee Chanyuk think the mutual respect they have for one another is something on a greater level.
Both Lee Chanyuk and Lee Suhyun admitted that not once in their lives as artists and individuals did they think about leaving YG Entertainment, which has been their home since their debut days. Moreover, YG Entertainment positively commended the AKMU siblings for having such a generous trait despite being young at their age.
YG Entertainment further noted, "The AKMU members are still young, but they are very thoughtful and mature. All of the YG staff members were touched by the news of AKMU's long-term contract renewal. As we have once again confirmed our trust in each other, YG will provide further support for AKMU and do our best for them to grow well as artists."
AKMU first appeared on YG Entertainment's 'K-pop Star Season 2.' in 2012 and have managed to debut in the K-pop scene in 2014 officially. Since then, the two have been walking their path just fine on their way to stardom.
YG Entertainment also houses the most iconic K-pop groups from the second generation up to the latest, including BIGBANG, BLACKPINK, WINNER, iKON, and AKMU SECHSKIES, and TREASURE. Former artists include 2NE1, GUMMY, EPIK HIGH, WHEESUNG, Nam Taehyun, Lee Jong Suk, Psy, and Lee Hi.
