JYP And Sunmi Give Retro Feels In Their New Duet Single 'When We Disco'
48-year old Park Jin Young (JYP) and 28-year-old soloist Sunmi have sparked the sleeping flames of disco with their newly released single. Just after Sunmi severed with JYP Entertainment, the former Wonder Girl card-carrying member teamed up with her previous CEO, JYP, for an 80's inspired record titled 'When We Disco.'
A Brief Timeline of 'When We Disco'
In the first week of August, JYP Entertainment confirmed the upcoming duet's news to various social media platforms. Shortly, the CEO and the artist shared their forthcoming duet's first concept photo on their personal Instagram accounts.
JYP's first solo teaser image immediately followed the release of the concept image of the duo. The singer poses a retro-inspired aura under a shining disco ball and feels like a dancing platform. He also donned an 80's apparel, somehow alike with today's jumpsuits, and a retro-styled hairdo.
The concept teaser images of JYP expressing a throwback feel are followed by the duo's music video teaser release. The video clip was uploaded via JYP Entertainment's official Youtube channel, where both artists are singing their new track under a monochromatic setup, venues in various city balconies. As per Hellokpop, the music video teaser itself massively hinted at an 80's exhibition for the track's upcoming release.
On August 6, a second music video teaser was released and then followed by the doubleton's concept photo together.
And finally, on August 11, a day before the track's release, JYP Entertainment dropped the branded music video of 'When We Disco' by JYP and Sunmi, shortly followed by the actual record.
'When We Disco'
According to Rolling Stone, the tracks sing its name as it tags along in the great four-on-the-floor beats. The words portray the good old times in a relationship and wanting to delight back to those days.
