FIFTY FIFTY's Agency ATTRAKT Files a 1 Billion Won Lawsuit Against Ahn Seong-il and Others
On October 4th, Attrakt, the agency of girl group FIFTY FIFTY, announced that they filed a lawsuit claiming 1 billion won in damages against the outsourcing company The Givers, its CEO Ahn Seong-il, and Director Baek Mo at the Seoul Central District Court on the 27th of last month.
In the complaint, Attract stated, "CEO Ahn and Director Baek not only violated their contractual obligations with Attract but also obstructed our business, deceived us, and committed acts of betrayal against our interests, causing financial harm."
Ahn Seong-il is also the music producer behind FIFTY FIFTY's global hit song 'Cupid'. From June 2021, Ahn had a 5-year project management contract with Attrakt, taking charge of developing new girl groups and main producing. Director Baek was responsible for managing and overseeing various tasks for this project.
After the global success of 'Cupid', FIFTY FIFTY has been inactive due to a contract dispute with Attrakt. The members filed for an injunction to suspend the exclusive contract with their agency, but the court dismissed it last August. Attract suspects that TheGivers is behind the contract dispute.
Attrakt commented, "We are claiming a portion of the amount due to business embezzlement and misappropriation by TheGivers' CEO Ahn Seong-il and Director Baek, as well as the loss of major business opportunities such as advertising and sponsorship rejections."
They added, "Considering the direct disputes between our company and our artist (referring to FIFTY FIFTY) due to default and illegal activities, which prevented normal entertainment activities, we plan to increase the claimed amount in the upcoming trial."
Attrakt is currently preparing for a new girl group project aiming to debut in the first half of next year.
