BTS, NewJeans, and BLACKPINK Dominate as Top 3 in Idol Group Brand Rankings for July 2023
BTS, NewJeans, and BLACKPINK have climbed to the top three spots of the July 2023 Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings.
According to the Big Data analysis for the July 2023 Idol Group Brand Reputation, BTS secured the first position, followed by NewJeans at second and BLACKPINK at third.
The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute extracted 77,159,626 big data of idol group brands for analysis from June 18, 2023, to July 18, 2023. This shows an 8.07% decrease compared to the 83,929,675 big data analyzed in June.
The Brand Reputation Index is an indicator created through big data analysis that finds consumer online habits have a significant influence on brand consumption. The idol group brand reputation analysis measures the positive and negative assessments of idol group brands, media attention, and consumer interest and communication volume. Qualitative evaluations from the Brand Reputation Monitor were also included.
The Idol Group Brand Reputation measures consumer participation index, media index, communication index, and community index for the idol group brands, including both boy and girl groups, to analyze the Brand Reputation Index.
The top 30 positions for the July 2023 Idol Group Brand Reputation are as follows: BTS, NewJeans, BLACKPINK, IVE, SEVENTEEN, Leseraphin, (G)I-DLE, EXO, SHINee, NCT, TWICE, Girls' Generation, Stray Kids, MONSTA X, OH MY GIRL, aespa, Red Velvet, MAMAMOO, 2PM, HAIKEY, THE BOYZ, BIGBANG, BTOB, Super Junior, ATEEZ, ENHYPEN, ASTRO, Teen Top, ENMIX, fromis_9.
BTS, who secured the first position, had a brand participation index of 487,550, media index of 989,715, communication index of 2,505,291, and community index of 2,790,849, resulting in a brand reputation index of 6,773,406. This indicates a 41.88% decrease compared to the brand reputation index of 11,654,947 in June.
NewJeans, at the second position, had a brand reputation index of 5,971,913, showing a 58.75% increase compared to their brand reputation index of 3,761,863 in June.
BLACKPINK, in the third position, had a brand reputation index of 4,960,500, showing a 4.78% decrease compared to their brand reputation index of 5,209,267 in June.
The director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, Ku Chang-hwan, said, "In the July 2023 Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings, the BTS brand took first place. When we look at the idol group brand category, there was an 8.07% decrease compared to the 83,929,675 big data of idol group brands in June. If we look at the detailed analysis, there was a 9.71% decrease in brand consumption, a 21.53% decrease in brand issues, an 8.10% decrease in brand communication, and a 0.24% decrease in brand spread."
Continuing, he noted that, "The BTS brand, which ranked first in the July 2023 Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings, had high scores in link analysis for 'revealed, released, published,' and in keyword analysis, 'Jungkook, J-Hope, and Jimin' ranked high. The positivity ratio in the positivity-negativity analysis was recorded at 90.07%."
The Idol Group Brand Reputation Ranking for July 2023 included BTS, NewJeans, BLACKPINK, IVE, SEVENTEEN, Leseraphin, (G)I-DLE, EXO, SHINee, NCT, TWICE, Girls' Generation, Stray Kids, MONSTA X, OH MY GIRL, aespa, Red Velvet, MAMAMOO, 2PM, HAIKEY, THE BOYZ, BIGBANG, BTOB, Super Junior, ATEEZ, ENHYPEN, ASTRO, Teen Top, ENMIX, fromis_9, TREASURE, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, Girl's Day, BLACKSWAN, WINNER, WJSN, STAYC, Dreamcatcher, TVXQ, Apink, LOONA, Billy, INFINITE, Highlight, Golden Child, ONF, Classy, SF9, Block B, and Kep1er.
