22 Days Since Moonbin's Passing: How Close Friends Cope with Loss and Remember Him
It's been 22 days since ASTRO member Moonbin left this world. The heartache from losing a beloved star so suddenly is indescribable, leaving a void filled with despair and loneliness.
Entertainment industry colleagues who have said goodbye to Moonbin are still grappling with a heavy heart. However, they have not allowed sadness to consume them entirely. They have found ways to console themselves and each other through their activities, and by commemorating him in their own ways, as a show of respect for their departed friend.
Cha Eunwoo, a fellow group member and close friend of Moonbin, continued to engage with fans despite his grief. He attended the 'KonnecThai' event held in Thailand on April 29th, a decision he made to honor his commitment to fans.
During the event, he performed his solo track 'Focus On Me' from the tvN drama 'Racket Boys' OST. The video shows Cha Eunwoo with tears in his eyes, revealing his longing for his late friend.
Boo Seungkwan, Moonbin's same-age best friend, has been promoting SEVENTEEN's 10th mini-album 'FML.' His participation in the activities has been flexible, depending on his condition. Fortunately, he displayed his usual powerful performance on the 'Son Oh Gong' stage, suppressing his sadness to maintain a professional demeanor in front of fans.
Boo Seungkwan is overcoming the pain of losing his close friend with the support of his team members and Carats (SEVENTEEN's fans). This promotion period is a beautiful farewell to his late friend and a stage for his own healthy recovery.
Gfriend's SinB, a friend of Moonbin for 18 years, has taken a break for the time being. After hearing the news of Moonbin's passing, SinB performed in the United States but appeared visibly emotional and tearful. She subsequently canceled her schedule to take personal time to heal.
SinB needs ample time to grieve. She must go through the mourning process, cherishing memories with her late friend, and slowly overcoming her pain.
Close friends continue to remember and honor Moonbin. They console their hearts in grief and try to regain composure. They make an effort to put on a brave face in front of fans and to overcome their sorrow. They are each finding their own way to say goodbye to their colleague.
What's important is that during this process, no one else has to suffer more pain. Singer IU once said, "When happy, we laugh, when sad, we cry, when hungry, we lose strength, when in pain, our efficiency drops. I wish those natural occurrences would be naturally shown and accepted."
Those left behind can cry when they're sad and yearn for their friend when they miss him. They don't have a duty to bear their pain just because they receive a lot of love. We support the future of Moonbin, who will be forever remembered through love, and his friends.
