Le Sserafim's 'Unforgiven': Falling in Love with Music and Nile Rodgers Reveals Collaboration Reason
The interview with American legendary musician Nile Rodgers and K-pop group Le Sserafim (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yoonjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae) has been revealed.
On May 2nd (EST), an interview article with Le Sserafim and Nile Rodgers was published on the official website of Grammy.com, the global music-focused media run by the Recording Academy, which organizes the Grammy Awards. Nile Rodgers, a renowned guitarist and producer who has won numerous trophies at the Grammy Awards, played guitar for Le Serafim's first full-length album title track 'UNFORGIVEN (feat. Nile Rodgers)', forming a connection with the members.
In the interview, Nile Rodgers said, "I fell in love with Le Sserafim's music as soon as I heard it and decided to participate in the song." He added, "What's fascinating about K-pop lately is that it has no fear. The changes that K-pop is attempting are more interesting than anything that has happened in the music field in the past few years." The members commented, "We believe that music is a universal language. We are grateful for the environment where we can collaborate anywhere in the world."
Regarding their first full-length album 'UNFORGIVEN', released on May 1st, Le Sserafim said, "We are always growing, and we strive to make sure this growth and positive change are reflected in all our albums. The message we want to convey is Le Serafim itself. Not caring about others' opinions or evaluations may seem villainous to some. However, just like our music crosses boundaries and expands, we want to be a team that continues to break limits."
Lastly, Nile Rodgers praised, "I like the entire 'UNFORGIVEN' album. It's impressive that it doesn't conform to conventions. As a musician, it's a pleasure to listen to the results of a team that tries various things. I can feel the sincerity in all the styles and music that Le Serafim pursues."
Meanwhile, Le Sserafim's first full-length album 'UNFORGIVEN' sold 1,024,034 copies on the first day of release according to the Hanteo Chart. This marks the highest first-day sales for a K-pop girl group, and the highest record for all female artists, including solo singers.
